Some products start with a business plan.
The Murphy Bag started with a dog.
Murphy was goofy, loyal, gentle, and deeply loved. Like so many dogs, he was family. He was there for the ordinary days, the adventures, the quiet moments, and all the memories in between.
Then came the day no dog owner ever wants to face.
When Murphy needed help, we found ourselves in a situation many pet owners never think about until it's happening. We needed a way to safely carry him, support him, and get him where he needed to go. In that moment, it became painfully clear that there weren't many practical options available for medium and large dogs.
That experience stayed with us.
After Murphy passed away on October 18, 2024, we couldn't stop thinking about how many other families might someday find themselves in the same position. Whether it's an injury on a hike, exhaustion on an adventure, an unexpected medical emergency, or simply a moment when your dog can no longer continue on their own, those situations happen every day.
And when they do, every moment counts.
What began as an idea quickly became a mission. Over the past year and a half, we've worked through countless designs, samples, revisions, testing, manufacturing challenges, shipping delays, and more late nights than we can count. Every decision was made with one goal in mind:
Create something we would have wanted for Murphy.
Today, we're incredibly proud to announce that The Murphy Bag officially launches on June 1, 2026.
The Murphy Bag is an emergency dog lift bag designed to help owners safely carry medium and large dogs during urgent situations. It's lightweight, supportive, easy to store, and designed to be there when you need it most.
But this launch is about more than a product.
It's about preparedness.
It's about the bond we share with our dogs.
It's about making sure that if someone else faces one of the hardest moments of their dog's life, they have one more tool to help get them home safely.
Murphy's story will always be at the heart of this company. His impact inspired every stitch, every buckle, and every decision that brought The Murphy Bag to life.
